The employment of Bahraini or GCC Nationals, as well as the identification of such for development by the Company is a corporate objective and a recruitment priority. Expatriate employees may be recruited to set and maintain suitable standards only where Bahraini or GCC Nationals are not suitably trained and/or experienced or not immediately available for employment.
The Human Resources department has designed a full-fledged plan aimed at encouraging and preparing Bahraini nationals to join the Aluminum manufacturing industry. It applies an efficient strategy in its employment program in which the right qualifications and meeting the company needs for technical people plays the central role.
In its first year plan in 1986 until today, the Human Resources section has managed to raise the national workforce in GARMCO from 77% to 88.6%, and plans to increase the national workforce to 90% by 2011.
